Here Comes the Sun Workshops

Sun-printing - Use natural materials to make beautiful prints which soak up the sun. We will use cyanotype and tumeric based mixtures to paint paper, before lying our flowers, shapes and leaves on them. Then we cover them with glass and leave them in the sunshine for a while. When we take these things off and dip our papers into a bicarbonate mixture, we should see some amazing images appear, created by the sun itself!

Make a Solargraph Pinhole Camera - Here is your chance to capture the path travelled by the sun with your own special camera. We will use a coffee tin to make the camera and put light sensitive paper inside it. Then you can take it home and find a place to put it outside where there is a good chance of it facing the sun for most of the day. You choose how long it’s there - a week, a month, the whole year! Full instructions will be given for bringing your solargraph to life.
