Astronomy Talk, Workshop and Stargazing & Moon Watching Walk
Join astronomer Dr. Chris Leigh & Dark Skies Gigha on a winter stargazing and moon watching experience as he shares stories of the stars, and introduces you to the dark skies of winter in the Northern Hemisphere.
The events features: a workshops & digital tour of the night sky followed by a moon-watching walk and outdoor stargazing session.
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 15th
Tales from the Arctic: Celestial Bodies Workshop & Lunch
Join Edgelands Art Gallery & Cultural Centre for an enchanting winter workshop as we journey across the night skies of the Arctic through the art of Inuit artists from the acclaimed Kinngait Studios based on the Isle of Dorset in Nunavut, Canada.
The event features: A Curator Talk where you will learn about the significance of celestial bodies such as the moon, stars and sun in Inuit art and culture and a Workshop where you will learn how to create your own constellation wall hanging made from plant fibres, clay and other seasonal, natural materials. This events also includes: a beautifully light lunch featuring home grown, locally sourced and wild harvested produce and drinks.

Dark Skies Theatre: Stargazing & Moon Watching Experience
Join Dark Skies Gigha on a winter stargazing and moon watching experience at our Dark Skies Theatre as we explore and enjoy the dark skies of November in the Northern Hemisphere.
The events features: a moon-watching and outdoor stargazing session at the Dark Skies Theatre at the North End of the Isle of Gigha.
DARK SKIES THEATRE
With the support of our community Dark Skies Gigha’s Dark Sky Theatre was established in 2022.
The Theatre is located at the Dark Sky Discovery Site at the north of the island. At the site you will find a night sky interpretation board, benches and stargazing pamphlets for islanders and visitors.
